#3 – DENVER MUSEUM OF NATURE & SCIENCE UNDERGOES HISTORIC $20M TRANSFORMATION
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is undergoing a $20 million transformation, thanks to the largest private donation in its history from the Denver-based Sturm Family Foundation. The renovations will modernize the museum’s theater, lobby, and plaza, creating more interactive and accessible spaces while enhancing indoor-outdoor connections. The first phase, beginning in April, includes a temporary closure of the Infinity Theater and a reimagining of the beloved Coors Hall of Gems and Minerals, blending cutting-edge exhibition design with immersive storytelling. Future plans also include a new eastern entrance, set to open in 2025. Additionally, the museum is collaborating with Indigenous communities to revamp its North American Indian Cultures exhibit. These upgrades mark a new era for the museum, expanding engagement and educational opportunities for visitors of all ages.
#4 – DENVER’S NEW WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM TO GET ITS OWN STADIUM
Denver’s new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team has announced plans for a 14,500-seat stadium at Santa Fe Yards, a 14-acre site south of downtown near I-25 and Broadway. This purpose-built venue will be the first of its kind for women’s sports in Colorado, featuring a recreational district, a 3.5-acre park, and mixed-use development. The project, led by CAA ICON and Populous, is expected to open in spring 2028, pending City Council approval. While officials, including Mayor Mike Johnston, praise the stadium’s economic and cultural impact, concerns about environmental effects and costs have been raised. Denver NWSL aims to create a world-class home for professional women’s soccer, with plans for future expansion and a temporary stadium to be announced later.
#5 – THE FEBRUARY 2025 HOUSING MARKET TRENDS REPORT IS IN: HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The Denver metro housing market gained momentum in February 2025, with more homes hitting the market and steady demand from buyers. While home prices continued to rise, buyers took more time to make decisions, leading to a more balanced market as spring approached.
Key Market Trends:
-
More Homes for Sale – Sellers listed 4,941 homes, an increase from last year, giving buyers more choices.
-
Steady Buyer Interest – 2,694 homes were sold, and 3,529 went under contract, showing ongoing demand.
-
Rising Home Prices – The median closed price reached $599,000, continuing the upward trend.
-
Faster Market Activity – Compared to January, new listings rose by 14%, pending sales increased by 23%, and closed sales jumped 18%.
-
Rental Market Slowdown – Fewer rental properties were leased (down 30% year-over-year), but rental prices still increased by 2%.
What This Means for Buyers and Sellers:
With more homes available and stable buyer demand, the market is becoming more balanced. Sellers can still expect strong prices but may need to wait longer for offers. Buyers have more options but should stay proactive as competition remains. As spring approaches, mortgage rates and market trends will be key factors to watch.
