With just 8.7% of adults in poor or fair health (compared to 17.7% nationwide), Douglas County continues to be a leader in wellness, supported by strong household income, high homeownership rates, and excellent education levels. Other high-ranking Denver Metro counties include Boulder, Elbert, Jefferson, and Arapahoe. This ranking is based on data from multiple national and state sources, including the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, reinforcing Douglas County’s reputation as a top place to live for health-conscious individuals and families.
