5-BULLET FRIDAY – May 23, 2025
First of all, congratulations graduates!
From all of us here, we want to send a huge congratulations to the graduates in your lives—whether they’re finishing high school, college, or even just wrapping up elementary school. These milestones matter. They remind us of how much growth, hard work, and heart goes into each year.
This season hits especially close to home for us, as we watched our twin boys accept their 5th grade diplomas. It is such a beautiful reminder to pause, soak it in, and celebrate the moment.
To the graduates: we wish you joy, confidence, and courage as you step into your next chapter. And to the families: we see you, we cheer for you, and we’re celebrating right alongside you.
Enjoy this special time—you’ve all earned it!
#1 – QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” — Clay P. Bedford
#2 – SMART & SUSTAINABLE: ECO-FRIENDLY HOME UPGRADES THAT BOOST VALUE AND CUT COSTS
As homeowners increasingly prioritize sustainability, eco-friendly home upgrades are proving to be a smart investment—cutting energy costs, reducing environmental impact, and even boosting property values by an average of 2.7%, according to Freddie Mac. While solar panels offer long-term benefits, they come with a high upfront cost and slow payback, making more affordable improvements attractive alternatives. Energy-efficient windows and doors can increase home value by up to 30%, smart home systems like thermostats and LED lighting can cut energy bills by up to 23%, and water-saving fixtures reduce waste and utility costs. Additional upgrades such as added insulation and green roofing can also significantly enhance home value and comfort while supporting a greener future.
#3 – DENVER PARKS RANKED TOP 10 IN THE NATION
Denver’s park system is now ranked 10th-best in the nation, up three spots from last year, thanks to new park openings and increased investment, according to the Trust for Public Land. With 97% of residents living within a 10-minute walk of a park—well above the national average of 76%—and $229 spent per resident (compared to the $133 national average), the city’s commitment to public green spaces is paying off. The upcoming transformation of the 155-acre former Park Hill Golf Course into a public park is expected to further strengthen Denver’s standing.
#4 – ADELMAN NAMED FULL-TIME HEAD COACH AS NUGGETS FOCUS ON INTERNAL GROWTH
The Denver Nuggets have officially named David Adelman their full-time head coach for the 2025-26 season after a strong postseason run. Adelman, a longtime assistant and son of Hall of Famer Rick Adelman, took over late last season and led the team to a playoff series win before falling in Game 7 to Oklahoma City. Nuggets president Josh Kroenke made it clear the team is choosing continuity over drastic changes, focusing on developing young talent and trusting Adelman’s leadership. With limited assets and no 2025 draft pick, Denver plans to build from within while exploring smart trades and free agency. Adelman has earned praise from stars like Jokic, Gordon, and Braun for energizing the team, experimenting with new strategies, and restoring unity. The hope is that with a full offseason and training camp, Adelman can guide the Nuggets back to championship contention without skipping steps.
