5-BULLET FRIDAY – August 15, 2025
Great news! This week’s edition of 5-Bullet Friday is here! Enjoy….
#1 – QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs
#2 – DENVER ZOO WELCOMES FOURTH-GENERATION LION CUBS- LIVE CAM COMING SOON
Four feisty African lion cubs made their debut at the Denver Zoo on Wednesday, marking the zoo’s fourth generation of lions. Their mother, Araali—born at the zoo in 2020—endured nearly 18 hours of labor and is bonding well with the litter. “We are so excited to see Araali already becoming a great mother,” said Katelyn Stache, the zoo’s assistant curator of carnivores, adding that staff are enjoying the cubs’ sounds as Araali learns to care for them. The cubs won’t be viewable to the public for at least six weeks, but a live cub cam is coming soon.
#3 – GREEN TO GOLD: HOW SMART LAWN CARE CAN BOOST YOUR HOME’S VALUE BY UP TO $25,000
A well-maintained lawn can significantly impact your home’s value, with studies showing it can boost curb appeal and add $20,000–$25,000 to the sale price. First impressions start online and at the curb, and professional landscaping can increase a home’s value by 15%–20%, while poor landscaping can lower it by 10%–30%. Unlike costly renovations, lawn care offers a relatively low investment with a potential ROI of 100% or more, making it one of the most profitable home improvements. In regions like the Southwest, where water restrictions make grass difficult to maintain, sustainable options such as xeriscaping can command higher prices. Whether through lush green grass or drought-tolerant landscaping, thoughtful yard care sends a message of upkeep and value, helping turn your green lawn into real estate gold.
#4 – BO NIX EARNS VETERAN PRAISE AHEAD OF THE SEASON
After years of post–Peyton Manning instability—12 starting QBs from 2016–2023—the Broncos drafted Bo Nix 12th overall in 2024, and he delivered a strong rookie year (3,775 yards, 29 TDs) that ended Denver’s nine-year playoff drought. Though some critics credited Sean Payton’s scheme and short throws, momentum has shifted in Year 2: after a sharp joint practice vs. the Cardinals, veterans Calais Campbell and Mack Wilson praised Nix’s poise, quick decisions, cadence, and even no-look throws. Payton plans to rest most starters for Denver’s lone home preseason game; after struggling in the first preseason outing vs. San Francisco, Nix has one more tune-up in Week 3 vs. New Orleans before the Sept. 7 opener against Tennessee.
