#3 – DENVER NUGGETS FIRE HEAD COACH MICHAEL MALONE AHEAD OF PLAYOFFS, SHAKE UP LEADERSHIP

Michael Malone was abruptly fired as Denver Nuggets head coach this week, surprising a city with high hopes for another NBA title. Team management stated the decision was made to give the group the best chance to compete for the 2025 NBA Championship, according to Josh Kroenke, vice chairman of Kroenke Sports and Entertainment. Malone, alongside center Nikola Jokić, led the Nuggets to their first NBA title in 2023. The team now faces the challenge of entering the playoffs without a seasoned head coach, while also dealing with an upset fanbase and several injured starters. Lead assistant coach David Adelman will step in, offering some continuity, but he has no prior NBA head coaching experience. General manager Calvin Booth was also dismissed, further adding to the uncertainty around the team’s immediate future.

#4 – DOWNTOWN DENVER OFFICE TOWERS TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO RESIDENTIAL LIVING IN $200 MILLION PROJECT

Two office towers in downtown Denver are being converted into apartment spaces after The Luzzatto Company purchased 621 and 633 17th Street for $3.2 million earlier this month. The real estate firm plans to completely renovate the over 973,000 square feet of space, located just off the 16th Street Mall, as part of an effort to revitalize the downtown area. Company owner Asher Luzzatto said the project will transform the current mix of offices and grassy space into residential living, with renovations expected to cost between $150 and $200 million and take about three years to complete.

Central Park Playground
