5-BULLET FRIDAY – May 30, 2025
Enjoy this week’s issue of 5-Bullet Friday…
#1 – QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“What you are thinking, what shape your mind is in, is what makes the biggest difference of all.” – Willie Mays
#2 – DENVER’S OUTSIDE FESTIVAL GROWS INTO A MAJOR CELEBRATION OF OUTDOOR CULTURE AND INDUSTRY
Now in its second year, Denver’s Outside Festival is rapidly becoming a major celebration of Colorado’s outdoor culture, growing significantly from its debut with an expected 25,000 attendees and $16 million in projected economic impact. Organized by Boulder-based Outside Interactive, the event highlights the state’s $17 billion outdoor recreation industry with concerts, films, climbing walls, and talks by industry leaders, alongside a startup pitch contest and summit focused on public lands, innovation, and inclusivity. Following the departure of the Outdoor Retailer show, state officials committed to building a bigger, better experience—and with half the crowd traveling from outside Denver, it’s clear the Outside Festival is now standing on its own.
#3 – DEMARYIUS THOMAS EARNS SOLO INDUCTION INTO BRONCOS RING OF FAME
Demaryius Thomas, who passed away in 2021, is set to be inducted into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame as a solo honoree, joining a distinguished group that includes Peyton Manning, Mike Shanahan, and Champ Bailey. Thomas is best known for his connection with Manning, catching 41 touchdown passes from him—more than any other Bronco. However, Thomas also proved his talent earlier in his career, notably during the 2011 season with quarterback Tim Tebow, when he posted 745 yards and four touchdowns in the final seven games after recovering from significant injuries. He went on to record five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, cementing his place as one of the greatest receivers in Broncos history, second only to Rod Smith.
#4 – AIRBNB LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE ‘ORIGINALS’ EXPERIENCES TO ENHANCE TRAVEL BEYOND RENTALS
Airbnb is expanding beyond vacation rentals with the launch of “Originals,” a new tier of exclusive, curated experiences ranging from $20 to $200 per guest. These premium offerings are part of a broader effort to engage users whether they’re traveling or not. In Denver, locals and visitors can now book unique adventures that showcase the city’s best assets—its mountains and vibrant food scene. Options include hiking with a local ($65+), curated wine pairings with Rioja’s sommelier ($65), pub crawls ($35), e-bike tours ($75), family photo shoots ($150+), and private chefs ($120+ per guest). Originals are labeled in Airbnb’s Experiences tab and will be vetted for quality, with social features rolling out later this year to connect participants.
#5- MODERN WINDOW TREATMENT TRENDS THAT COMBINE STYLE, FUNCTION AND SUSTAINABILITY
If you’re ready to elevate your home décor, updating your window treatments is a smart and stylish place to start. Today’s options go far beyond simple curtains or blinds — they combine cutting-edge technology, eco-conscious materials, and thoughtful design to suit every lifestyle and aesthetic.
-
Smart Technology: Motorized shades and blinds can be controlled by phone apps or voice assistants and even adjust automatically throughout the day to help manage temperature and energy use.
-
Eco-Friendly Materials: Sustainable choices like bamboo, wood, organic cotton, hemp, and recycled polyester provide both beauty and a lower carbon footprint. Insulated options reduce heating and cooling costs.
-
Layered Looks: Combining sheer curtains with heavier drapes allows for more flexibility in light control and adds texture and depth to any room.
-
Bold Colors & Patterns: Graphic prints and vibrant hues — from florals to geometrics — can serve as focal points or subtle accents that refresh and modernize your space.
-
Minimalist Styles: Clean lines and simple silhouettes like roller shades or sheer panels in neutral tones create a polished, understated look that blends easily with any interior.
-
Soft, Light-Filtering Fabrics: Sheer materials such as voile and lightweight linen offer privacy while bathing your home in warm, natural light — perfect for creating a serene, dreamy feel.
Whether you’re going for a bold statement or quiet sophistication, modern window treatments allow you to mix form and function with ease. With options to fit every taste, these updates can transform your space while supporting a more energy-efficient and stylish home.
Wishing you a relaxing weekend!
